Join us on Sunday, July 18, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at George and Nanci Babigian's to meet and greet our elected officials. The address is 5249 Cape Leyte Drive on Siesta Key. Wine and cheese are provided.

Save the Date - Thursday, August 5, 6:30-7:30 p.m. A Candidates' Fair will be held at Gulf Gate Library, 7112 Curtiss Avenue. Come meet and get to know the candidates running in the primary and general elections. The public is invited. No reservations required.

YOU MAY REGISTER TO VOTE IN SARASOTA COUNTY IF:

You are a U. S. Citizen.
You are a resident of Florida and Sarasota County.
You are 18 years of age on or before Election Day.
You have had your civil rights restored if you have been convicted of a
felony or declared mentally incapacitated.
You provide your current and valid Florida driver's license number or OR
Florida identification card OR the last four digits of you Social
Security Number.

Join the Climate Change Committee

We are looking for interested members to join our Climate Change Committee. If you are interested, please call Corky Pezzati at 379-4648.

Committee members can:

* Create "Hot Topic" or "Food For Thought" meetings to educate the membership and community on solutions to reduce independence on oil,reduce air pollution,and protect pristine places from oil drilling and mining.
* Contact state and local representatives urging them to vote against weakening the Clean Air Act.
* Present fact sheets on the effects of climate change in the Midwest.
* Follow LWV advocacy guide lines.

JOIN THE LWVSC OBSERVER CORPS

The LWVSC Observer Corps Committee was developed to provide a means for our organization to be informed and current on primary areas of study and action. Observations will be limited to issues, studies and positions of the national, state and local League.
