The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization dedicated to promoting political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government and to acting on selected government issues.

BOARD MEETINGS

Monthly Board meetings are usually on the first Wednesday of the month. Members are invited to these. If you are interested, contact Kim Noyes at 941-921-9778, or lwvsc@verizon.net for information on dates and locations of future meetings.

GENERAL EVENTS INFORMATION
We have numerous general membership meetings throughout the year.

Hot Topics

HT is generally on the 4th Monday of the month at a variety of locations. The program is from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Registration at 11:30 AM, the program starts at noon providing a great opportunity to mix, mingle and meet new people before the program begins. Costs vary per location.

Food For Thought

FFTis a 9:00 a.m. breakfast program on the second Friday of the month at Waterside Estates, 4540 Bee Ridge Road. The cost is $3.00.

These programs offer presentations on issues of current interest to our members.

Reservations are required. Call 941-921-9778 or email lwvsc@verizon.net. Reservations must be honored or canceled before the meeting to avoid a charge.

In addition, our Committees hold numerous meetings, including candidate and referendum forums, legislative updates and special discussions with our elected officials, and many other guest speakers, which are usually open to the public.
